An investment in your child that will have lasting effects.
Frequency and duration of sessions are an integral piece of reading intervention. According to the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), it is recommended that students meet with their specialist for 180 minutes each week. With this plan, the program will take 2-3 years to complete. The optimal results will be achieved.
Providing your child with intense therapy is a commitment but an investment that will have lasting effects.
My Structured Literacy Program is based on scientifically-proven methodologies that are:
Systematic and Cumulative
Systematic: Instruction follows a clearly defined sequence, beginning with the simplest and most foundational concepts and progressing methodically toward more complex skills and elements.
Cumulative: Each instructional step builds upon previously learned concepts, ensuring knowledge is continuously reinforced and expanded.
Explicit
Concepts are taught intentionally and directly, with ongoing interaction between the teacher and student.
Instruction does not rely on students independently inferring or discovering concepts without guidance.
Diagnostic and Prescriptive
Instruction is individualized and tailored to each student’s specific skills and learning needs.
Teaching decisions are informed by ongoing, careful assessment to guide and adjust instruction effectively.

The first two sessions I conduct will be dedicated to assessing the student’s individual needs and learning profile. During these sessions, I will evaluate key areas related to reading, language processing, and foundational skills in order to gain a clear understanding of the student’s strengths and challenges. The information gathered through this assessment process is used to determine the most appropriate instructional program and ensure the student is placed in a plan that best supports their learning and long-term progress.
